Job summary

The University of Virginia is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse - Ambulatory to join a busy pediatric practice focused on newborns through early adulthood. You will support RNs and physicians, provide direct patient care, and help coordinate ongoing care in ambulatory settings.

At UVA Augusta Pediatrics, you will work four days per week with one closing night and every 6th-7th weekend. Virginia LPN licensure and AHA BLS certification are required; a accredited LPN program is essential for

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Program.
• Licensed to practice as an LPN in Virginia prior to onboarding.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the registered nurse and/or provider with data collection on patients’ physical, psychological and social needs per policy.
• Organize and prioritize nursing care activities considering patient and team needs.
• Implement age-appropriate interventions as directed by the RN/provider.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care and progress toward outcomes.
• Provide ongoing education and reinforce care plans for patients and families.
• Maintain a safe care environment and support patient safety.
• Support professional development of self and others.
• Demonstrate teamwork in delivering patient care.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.
