Job summary

Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, OH, is seeking a Transport Paramedic to provide direct patient care during ground transport, stabilize acutely ill patients, and support family-centered care throughout the transport process.

The role requires EMT-Paramedic certification, a valid Ohio driver’s license, and two years of EMT-Paramedic experience; rotating 12-hour shifts with on-call requirements, weekends and holidays, on-site at the Main Campus and Lewis Center ED.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of Transport Paramedic Training Program and Preceptorship.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic certification required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates in managing the acutely ill patient through crisis intervention, support, and education.
• Performs stabilization and resuscitation, and provides direct care and continuous monitoring during transport.
• Performs treatments and administers medications under supervision.
• Maintains documentation of patient assessment and interventions.
• Drives the MICU to and from transport locations and ensures proper resource use.
• Participates in education, audits, and unit committees to sustain operations.
