Job description

General: The Cashier/Cook is responsible for providing excellent service and creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Pechanga Fried Chicken is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This position requires the individual to have great attendance and be flexible to work all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Pechanga Service Agreement: Pechanga Fried Chicken Cashiers/Cooks are at the forefront of customer service. Positive interactions with customers ensure repeat business in the future. Welcoming an incoming customer with a friendly smile and warm greeting ensures every customer is being treated with respect. Our goal is to provide great hospitality so that each interaction is a positive impression of the company and that their business is appreciated.


Essential Duties:
  1. Greets guests and creates a welcoming atmosphere by providing professional and exceptional customer service.
  2. Maintains hygiene by washing hands and sanitizing the work station throughout the shift.
  3. Maintains detailed menu knowledge and promotes premium items, highlighting the differences.
  4. Professionally takes guests' orders, ensures accuracy, and processes payments at the front register and/or drive-thru and third-party vendors (DoorDash, Postmates, etc.).
  5. Processes team member meals according to company cash handling procedures.
  6. Handles various cash procedures (credit cards, gift cards, cash) and policies to remain in compliance.
  7. Reports all suspicious activity including counterfeit currency, potential theft, and safety or emergency concerns to management if/when they occur.
  8. Prepares and maintains the EXPO station to ensure food is properly packed according to standards.
  9. Prepares fountain drinks according to specifications to ensure quality and presentation.
  10. Stocks the work station with products (salsa and drink cups, ice) and sanitized utensils, and turns on equipment (grill, fryer, etc.).
  11. Ensures refrigerators and freezers are on and accurately maintained at the correct temperatures to ensure food freshness.
  12. Follows the prep chart and prepares items for the day (condiments, vegetables, and meats).
  13. Follows food safety and cleanliness guidelines.
  14. Prepares labels for pans and stores them appropriately.
  15. Prepares food according to standards and works quickly and efficiently.
  16. Maintains and sanitizes cleanliness and organization inside and outside of the restaurant (counters, grills, fryers, POS and credit card station, tables, chairs, walls, floors, dining room; sweeps and mops floors inside and removes trash).
  17. Provides teamwork by helping other areas as needed (grill, fry station).
  18. Establishes and maintains cooperative and effective working relationships with team members.
  19. Performs additional duties as assigned by Management.

Education & Experience:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Minimum of one (1) year cook experience is a plus.
  3. Must have a valid driver’s license with no restrictions.
  4. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
  5. Able to solve problems and work calmly and effectively under pressure.
  6. Strong self-motivation and organizational skills.
  7. Excellent communication skills with a team player attitude.
  8. Teachable and flexible to changes.
