The College Physical Education Department is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Yoga Instructor to teach a one-credit, Pass/Fail undergraduate physical education course. The course meets once per week for 80 minutes and is designed to introduce students to the fundamental principles and practices of yoga in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment. The instructor will provide students with practical instruction in yoga postures, breathing techniques, flexibility, mobility, balance, relaxation, and basic mindfulness practices. The course should emphasize lifelong wellness, stress management, body awareness, and the development of healthy physical activity habits. Students may enter the course with a wide range of previous yoga and fitness experience; therefore, the instructor should be comfortable teaching beginners and providing appropriate modifications for varying ability and experience levels.
Compensation: $2668 per contact hour
Range: Period Activity Grade NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, or other items.
