Job summary

Rambus seeks a Principal Validation Engineer for its Memory Interface Chip unit in California. The role focuses on lab bring-up, validating high-speed memory designs, and developing automated scripts for lab data analysis.

Strong memory system and high-speed signaling knowledge are required, with hands-on hardware experience including x86 systems. The position is full-time with hybrid work options, offering base salary, bonus, equity, and benefits.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of processor/memory system architecture.
• Understanding of high speed interface concepts, including signal integrity.
• Working knowledge of test and measurement equipment, troubleshooting and debugging.
• Experience on hardware equipment like multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic and protocol analyzers, protocol generators, etc.
• Knowledge on characterization, board design, debug and troubleshooting
• Hands-on hardware experience with x86 computer systems.

• Work with silicon design teams to develop experiments, drive data collection, data analysis, and present results analysis and reports.
• Support Applications Team in understanding and resolving customer issues.

Overview

Rambus, a premier chip and silicon IP provider, is seeking to hire an exceptional Principal Validation Engineer to join our Memory Interface Chip business unit. Candidates will be joining some of the brightest inventors and engineers in the world to develop products that make data faster and safer.

The PE Validation Engineer is a Full-Time position, and the candidate will work in the lab to automate data collection and provide a framework to develop validation environment to check system performance and specification compliance. The candidate is required to have experience with processor-memory interfaces, including DDR topologies and protocols, as well as high-speed signaling, including signal integrity and power integrity concepts.

The US salary range for this full-time position is $140,800 to $261,600. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions.
