Job summary

Kroll is seeking a Managing Director to lead and expand its Cybersecurity Advisory practice serving the Private Equity sector. This executive will drive growth, develop trusted relationships with PE sponsors and portfolio company executives, and deliver strategic cybersecurity advisory services that enhance investment outcomes and enterprise value.

The MD will work directly with private equity firms, operating partners, deal teams, boards, and portfolio company leadership to assess cyber risk,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information security, CS, engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years in cybersecurity consulting, advisory, risk management, or related fields.
• 7+ years serving private equity firms or PE-backed portfolios.
• Established network within private equity and investment communities.
• Experience at a leading consulting or PE advisory organization.
• Proven track record generating significant consulting revenue.
• Deep understanding of cybersecurity strategy, governance, cloud security, resilience, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience leading cybersecurity due diligence and post-acquisition value creation.
• Strong executive presence with boards, investors, and C-suite stakeholders.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the PE cybersecurity advisory growth strategy.
• Build and maintain C-suite relationships with PE sponsors and portfolio leadership.
• Originate, qualify, and close advisory engagements across the PE lifecycle.
• Lead cybersecurity diligence for buy-side and sell-side transactions.
• Advise on cyber risks impacting valuation, deal structure, and integration.
• Develop cyber transformation roadmaps and risk-reduction programs.
• Guide cyber governance, third-party risk management, and regulatory compliance.
• Build, lead, and mentor cybersecurity consultants and engagement leads.
• Represent the firm at industry events and publish insights on trends.
