Job summary

Finatal seeks a Chief Financial Officer for a PE-backed industrial services platform in Chicago. The role partners with the CEO and sponsor to drive value creation and prepare for exit in 12–18 months.

You will lead an established finance team, strengthen GAAP reporting, forecasting, and board materials, and oversee cash flow across multiple sites to unlock margin improvement and support M&A integration.

Qualifications

• CFO with private equity backed experience.
• Background in industrial / field services or operationally complex environments.
• Proven success in driving operational improvements and margin expansion.

Responsibilities

• Partner with CEO and investors to drive value creation and prepare for exit (12-18 months).
• Lead and develop the finance function, working through an established team (VP Finance, FP&A, Controllers).
• Strengthen financial reporting, GAAP rigor, forecasting, and board-level materials.
• Drive operational finance initiatives across a multi-site, asset-intensive model.
• Identify and deliver margin improvement opportunities across labor, procurement, and operations.
• Oversee cash flow, working capital, and banking / lender relationships.
• Support ongoing M&A integration and selective growth initiatives.
• Bring commercial insight into complex revenue streams across multiple service lines.
