All Saints’ Episcopal Day School, a 2K-6th grade, independent school in Florence, S.C. is seeking to hire a P.E. teacher/Athletic Director. This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in the field of Education or Exercise Science
  • Experience teaching and working with children
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of physical education standards and best practices
  • Ability to fulfill all physical aspects of the job, including but not limited to, lifting children and heavy objects, bending and participating in outdoor activities, cleaning and maintaining equipment
  • A sense of humor, compassion, and a desire and willingness to partner with parents and work positively, professionally, and collaboratively with colleagues

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plans physical education program to promote the development of students’ physical attributes, social skills, and lifelong activity skills
  • Teaches with an understanding of the growth and development of students from 2 years old to 6th grade
  • Teaches and demonstrates appropriate athletic techniques
  • Teaches game rules and strategy
  • Explains, demonstrates, evaluates, and coaches individual and team sports, utilizing knowledge of sports techniques and capabilities of students
  • Organizes, leads, instructs, and referees indoor and outdoor games and sports
  • Cultivates parent support via email, phone, calls, conferences, and report card comments
  • Selects, orders, stores, and inventories equipment, materials, and supplies
  • Responds readily to emergencies or injuries
  • Participates in faculty and admissions/school events
  • Attends grade level meetings for collaborative discussion
  • Participates in professional development
  • Creates sports event schedules and reserves venues/fields/courts as needed
  • Monitors expenditures against budget; prepares budget data for review/approval by Head of School
  • Maintains athletic facilities
  • Attends athletic events
  • Performs other duties as assigned
