Job summary

Daimler Truck North America in Mount Holly, NC is seeking a Technician II to perform intermediate-level mechanical work in support of manufacturing operations. You will troubleshoot equipment, perform repairs and preventive maintenance, and support production goals while meeting safety and quality standards.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, ability to read assembly prints, good computer skills, and willingness to work overtime on first or second shift. Relocation is not offered.

Inside the Role

The Technician II is responsible for performing intermediate-level technical and mechanical work in support of manufacturing operations. This role includes troubleshooting equipment and process issues, conducting repairs and preventive maintenance, supporting production goals, and ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with quality standards. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members to maintain efficient operations.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be capable of repetitive hand manipulation, grasping and supporting power tools, able to stand on concrete for entire shift with repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 45 pounds.
• Must work in a safe manner, maintain a clean work area, meet quality standards and implement continuous improvement measures introduced to the job. Cross train and complete other jobs as required. In addition to the above, 6 months experience in commercial vehicle inspection, repair or a related field is required.
• Must possess a strong mechanical aptitude and be able to analyze and solve production, quality, and engineering issues.
• Must have strong computer skills and the ability to effectively communicate with others.
• Must be able to access and understand assembly prints. This job requires working periodically under a chassis and reaching above your head for extended periods of time. This position has the responsibility of performing any of the following jobs within the work group: Completing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems installations with the assistance of documentation.
• Candidate must be willing to work overtime as required.
• Must be able to work first or second shift
