Job summary

Go-Ahead London is hiring Shunters/PCV Shunters to join the Asset Presentation team. You will safely move and prepare buses within the garage, support cleaning and engineering teams, and ensure vehicles are ready for service.

This physically active role includes evening and weekend shifts, with opportunities to progress toward bus-driver roles and benefits such as a company pension and travel perks.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK driving licence, PCV licence preferred.
• Ability to manoeuvre large vehicles safely in confined spaces.
• Good physical fitness.
• Strong health and safety practices.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently or in a team.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
• Excellent communication with yard supervisors, engineers and cleaners.
• Experience in transport or logistics is desirable.
• Knowledge of basic vehicle checks and fuelling procedures is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Safely manoeuvre buses within the garage following parking plans or allocator instructions.
• Position vehicles for maintenance, cleaning and service readiness.
• Refuel buses and check essential fluids per company guidelines.
• Ensure exterior cleaning meets Go-Ahead Way standards.
• Liaise with cleaning teams and position vehicles for internal cleaning.
• Carry out visual checks for damage or defects and report issues promptly.
• Complete movement logs and maintain records of positioning and fuelling.
• Move buses to and from workshops with minimal disruption.
• Follow all Health & Safety, environmental and operational procedures.
