First Choice Nurses is seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital shifts across Hampton Roads, Virginia. You can pick up shifts that fit your life, with flexible scheduling and per diem pay options.

Shifts run 7a-7p and 7p-7a. This role emphasizes high-quality patient care in acute-care environments and offers opportunities to build a fuller schedule or work just a few shifts per month.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current AHA BLS.
• Current AHA ACLS.
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.
• Additional credentials may be required based on facility assignment.

Responsibilities

• Assessing and monitoring patient conditions in acute-care settings.
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status.
• Administering medications and IV therapies as ordered.
• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Maintaining accurate electronic medical records.
• Adhering to infection-control and patient-safety standards.
• Educating patients and families on care and discharge plans.
• Adapting to different hospital units and environments.
