Job summary

Medical Solutions Direct Hire in Bloomington, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for an Intermediate Care/PCU role on a 32-bed unit. This Direct Hire, full-time night shift offers a team-based environment with 3–4 patients per nurse, telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, and advanced therapies.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year of RN experience in higher-acuity inpatient care and an active RN license.

Qualifications

• Active RN license required.
• BLS and ACLS required.
• NIHSS certification required or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with complex medical needs.
• Interpret and monitor cardiac telemetry.
• Care for patients with chest tubes and other advanced medical devices.
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond appropriately.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and nursing standards.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC.
• Safely manage patients requiring higher-acuity interventions.
• Float to ICU when appropriate based on experience; otherwise, float to General Medicine floors.
