Job summary

MASC Medical is seeking an experienced PCU RN for a permanent, full-time role in Gainesville, FL. Positions include day and night shifts, with a focus on higher-acuity patient care in a supportive interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Current Florida RN license or active multistate compact RN license.
• At least one year of RN experience.
• PCU, Stepdown, Telemetry, Cardiac, or Intermediate Care experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS certification or ability to obtain it within 90 days of starting.
• BSN preferred.
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to progressive care and stepdown patients.
• Assess patients at admission and throughout each shift.
• Closely monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and changes in condition.
• Administer medications and evaluate patient responses.
• Recognize clinical deterioration and respond quickly.
• Develop and update individualized plans of care.
• Coordinate care with physicians, specialists, therapists, and other clinical team members.
• Educate patients and families about medications, procedures, and recovery.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Support safe transitions between the ICU, PCU, and medical-surgical units.
