First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is actively seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital opportunities in the Hampton Roads area. You can pick up an occasional shift or build a fuller schedule; you choose when you work.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license
• Minimum 2 years of PCU nursing experience within past 4 years
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within past 12 months
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
• Additional credentials may be required based on hospital assignment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other specialized equipment required for PCU patients
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety guidelines
• Provide patient and family education
• Adapt professionally to different hospital environments and unit needs
