Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in the PCU.
• Monitor and assess patients with various diagnoses.
• Administer medications and manage cardiac drips.
• Perform wound care, tracheostomy management, and feeding tube care.
• Document and chart patient information using Epic EHR.
• Float to similar units or sister facilities as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physical therapy, respiratory therapy, rapid response teams).
• Maintain infection control standards and isolation precautions.
• Participate in emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November).

Overview

Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Locum Tenens opportunity in Columbia, SC. Join a leading acute care hospital and provide clinical support to adult and geriatric patients in the PCU. This travel nursing assignment offers experience in Columbia’s culture and healthcare community.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the PCU
• Monitor and assess patients regularly, including those with cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, gastrointestinal, endocrine, surgical, and sepsis diagnoses
• Administer medications, manage cardiac drips (no titration), insulin protocols, and blood product administration
• Perform wound care, tracheostomy management, and feeding tube care
• Document and chart patient information using Epic EHR
• Float to similar units or sister facilities as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physical therapy, respiratory therapy, rapid response teams)
• Maintain infection control standards and isolation precautions
• Participate in emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)
