Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Progressive Care Registered Nurse (PCU RN) for Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite, TX. This per diem role covers 12-hour shifts in the Progressive Care Unit, providing specialized care to patients requiring close monitoring and timely interventions.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, telemetry monitoring, medication administration, and performing nursing interventions.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients' conditions, vital signs, cardiac rhythms, neurological and respiratory status and respond promptly to deterioration.
• Utilize telemetry and monitoring devices to track cardiac rhythms, oxygen saturation, BP and other parameters.
• Administer medications as directed by physicians and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Perform nursing interventions and treatments such as wound care, catheter care, suctioning and oxygen therapy.
• Adhere to evidence-based practice guidelines, hospital policies, infection control and safety.
