Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a skilled nursing leader to manage direct reports, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care on a full-time night shift. You will lead staff development, compliance with regulatory standards, and budget management while promoting a culture of safety and continuous learning.

Ideal candidates hold RN licensure with BSN and 5+ years of clinical experience; Cerner experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of hospital policies and patient care standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Basic computer skills and experience with an Electronic Health Record.

Job Description

• Manages assigned direct reports including recruitment, hiring, coaching, disciplinary actions, development, education, competencies, performance evaluations, and payroll functions.
• Demonstrating critical thinking skills, creativity, and resource management to achieve quality performance and positive employee relations.
• Fostering a culture of psychological safety, where team members feel supported, valued, and empowered to speak up, share concerns, and contribute meaningfully.
• Promotes evidence-based practice, ensuring quality outcomes, and fostering a culture of safety, compassion, and continuous learning.
• Provides ongoing education and training to nursing staff to maintain high competency levels.
• Prepares the unit for audits and surveys, by monitoring and maintaining unit compliance with regulatory standards, accrediting, hospital policies while coordinating staff education to maintain competencies and preparedness.
• Manages nursing staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and optimal patient care.
• Conducts regular staff meetings to communicate updates, address concerns and provide guidance.
• Assists in developing, implementing, and evaluating ongoing service programs to ensure quality nursing and patient care.
• Manages budgets and resources efficiently to meet financial and operational goals.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Thorough understanding of hospital policies, procedures and legal aspects of acute care nursing [Required]
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing [Required]
• Basic computer skills, including experience with an Electronic Health Record [Required]
• Five or more years of current clinical experience [Preferred]
• Cerner documentation [Preferred]

• Associate's of Nursing [Required]
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Required]

Field of Study

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• In Nursing

Work Experience

• 5+ current clinical [Preferred]
• 5+ hospital experience [Preferred]
