Job summary

AdventHealth in Davenport, Florida is seeking a Nursing Manager to lead assigned nursing staff on a night shift. The role focuses on staff recruitment, development, payroll, and ensuring quality patient care while maintaining regulatory compliance.

The position requires an RN with an Associate’s and a Bachelor’s degree, strong English communication, and hours that align with Night shift scheduling. A culture of safety and continuous learning is emphasized, with opportunities for career

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of hospital policies, procedures and legal aspects of acute care nursing.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Basic computer skills, including experience with an Electronic Health Record.
• Five or more years of current clinical experience.
• Cerner documentation is preferred.

• Manages assigned direct reports including recruitment, hiring, coaching, disciplinary actions, development, education, competencies, performance evaluations, and payroll functions.
• Demonstrating critical thinking skills, creativity, and resource management to achieve quality performance and positive employee relations.
• Fostering a culture of psychological safety, where team members feel supported, valued, and empowered to speak up, share concerns, and contribute meaningfully.
• Promotes evidence-based practice, ensuring quality outcomes, and fostering a culture of safety, compassion, and continuous learning.
• Provides ongoing education and training to nursing staff to maintain high competency levels.
• Prepares the unit for audits and surveys, by monitoring and maintaining unit compliance with regulatory standards, accrediting, hospital policies while coordinating staff education to maintain competencies and preparedness.
• Manages nursing staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and optimal patient care.
• Conducts regular staff meetings to communicate updates, address concerns and provide guidance.
• Assists in developing, implementing, and evaluating ongoing service programs to ensure quality nursing and patient care.
• Manages budgets and resources efficiently to meet financial and operational goals.
