Job summary

Covestro is seeking an I&E/PCT Engineer to provide engineering and leadership services for chemical manufacturing projects. Qualifications

• 4 years of experience with chemical facilities in I&E or PCT design and engineering.
• Knowledge of field instrumentation and low/medium voltage electrical systems used in industrial processes.
• Knowledge of relevant national and international standards in process control.

Responsibilities

• Lead small project PCT teams and prepare estimates, scopes, and specifications.
• Evaluate PCT aspects of engineering to meet project objectives.
• Modify or create new I&E or PCT procedures and standards.

The primary responsibility of this role is to provide I&E (instrumentation and electrical) / PCT (process control technology) engineering and leadership services for the preparation and execution of I&E/PCT portions of projects for chemical manufacturing facilities.

Main responsibilities

• Contribute to instrumentation and electrical (I&E) and process control technology (PCT) engineering and services for the preparation and execution of I&E and PCT portions of projects for chemical manufacturing facilities;
• Lead small project PCT teams
• Preparation of estimates, scopes, specifications, design and other deliverables;
• Evaluate all PCT aspects of engineering to ensure all project objectives including safety, technical correctness, budget, constructability, schedule, maintainability and operability are met;
• Interface with other engineering disciplines or departments, customers and vendors or suppliers to ensure successful development and execution of projects;
• Modify existing or create new I&E or PCT procedures, standards and practices to stay current with technology and implement improved methods.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience and Soft-skills

• Fluency in English is required.
• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university with a strong interest in process control systems;
• 4 years of experience with chemical facilities in I&E or PCT design and engineering or equivalent experience;
• Knowledge of field instrumentation and low/medium voltage electrical systems used in industrial processes;
• Strong computer hardware and software skills;
• Knowledge of safety systems
• Knowledge of relevant national international standards in the area of process control, low voltage electrical and instrumentation;
• Systematic approach to problem definition and solution development;
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to deal with various engineering, maintenance, and operations and suppliers of PCT material and services;
• Excellent verbal and written skills in order to communicate with and obtain cooperation from team members involved with engineering, design, check out, commissioning and startup;;
• Experience with Intergraph Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI/INtools);
• Produce, Review and approve I&E and PCT specifications, drawings and other documentation, assist in compiling construction packages.
