Job summary

Endeavor Health in Elmhurst, IL is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Observation Unit to assist with essential patient care tasks under the supervision of an RN, ensuring patient comfort and safety according to established procedures.

This full-time role requires CPR certification and completion of NA training or equivalent experience, with a shift pattern of 7:00am to 7:30pm and every third weekend/holiday track. Strong teamwork and prioritization are essential.

Qualifications

• CPR certification from the American Heart Association
• Completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of patient care experience or nursing clinical rotation
• Completion of the care Companion Course within six months if required by the department
• Strong interpersonal skills including teamwork, prioritization, and the ability to follow directions

Hourly Pay Range:

$19.71 - $28.58 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Patient Care Technician - Observation Unit
• Location: Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus - 155 E. Brush Hill Rd., Elmhurst, IL 60126
• Full-Time: 36/hr per week
• Hours: 7:00am-7:30pm with every 3rd weekend and holiday track

What you will do:

The Patient Care Tech, under the directions of a Registered Nurse (RN) and, according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients.

What you will need:

• Education: N/A
• Certification: Current CPR Certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience: Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation
• Successful completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire when course is required by the department.
• Unique or Preferred Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions.
