The Patient Care Technician (PCT) at the Medical University of South Carolina reports to the Nurse Manager and works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse to support a decentralized, patient-centered approach to care and achieve outcomes.

Minimum education includes a high school diploma or GED; a year of patient care experience is preferred. BLS certification is required within 2 weeks of hire and must be maintained.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of patient care work experience.
• CNA, EMT, or Paramedic certification preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or enrollment in a healthcare program with nursing-related coursework preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assist with direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Perform multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach.

Formation

High school diploma or GED

One year of patient care experience in a health care facility

CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification

Bachelor’s Degree or enrollment in a healthcare related program with Nursing Assistant/Medical Assistant/Nursing Fundamentals course
