Work Hours/Shift

Full Time Nights

You Will Be Responsible For

• Documents vital signs, intake and outputs, and patient activity. Demonstrates competency in caring for patients in restraints. Notifies RN of problems with IVs, discontinues peripheral IV sites. Obtains blood glucose readings, vital signs, and performs am/pm care as delegated by RN. Completes treatments and procedures, documents within scope of practice, and reports abnormal findings immediately. Records fall risk assessment and adheres to fall precautions.
• Assures accurate location of patients within the computer system. Answers call lights and incoming calls. Coordinates with other departments and physicians. Performs all other assigned tasks.
• Acts as a communication liaison for patients, families, and healthcare team. Maintains patient confidentiality. Demonstrates competency in all procedures within scope of practice.
• Receptive to reassignments, maintains professionalism, and communicates effectively. Supports departmental and organizational mission, participates in improvement processes.

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Current Florida Certification as Nursing Assistant or Enrollment in RN program with first semester clinicals completed
• Current AHA BLS certification
• One year of healthcare nursing assistant experience preferred

Job Summary

The PCT/HUC performs duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager or RN, complying with standards and protocols. The role is multi-disciplinary: as a PCT, delivers competent, compassionate, and cost-effective care; as an HUC, performs clerical duties. Works with team to meet goals.
