Job summary

Qualifications

  • 1 year CNA experience required or preferred.
  • Current North Carolina Nurse Aide II listing on the NCBON, Aegis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must.
  • Diplomacy, tact and a positive approach to problem solving are required.
  • Must be able to communicate with patients, customers, other departments and staff in an articulate manner.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine personal care and assist with activities of daily living for patients.
  • Assist patients with body mechanics, ambulation, turning, positioning, transfers and ROM.
  • Assist with nutrition and elimination needs.
  • Perform specified procedures and notify nurse of abnormal findings.
  • Document nursing assistant care per policy and provide patient safety adherence.

Job Overview

Department: Scotland Memorial Hospital - Nursing: Progressive Care Status: Part time Shift: 3rd (United States of America)

Experience (Years/Type): 1 Year CNA Experience; Computer Skills (Preferred) Certification/Licensure: Current North Carolina Nurse Aide II listing on the NCBON, Aegis. Other Skills And Competencies: Demonstrates Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal. Diplomacy, Tact, And A Positive Approach To Problem Solving Are Required To Be Successful. Organizational Skills Are A Must. Fosters A Teamwork Environment. Must Be Able To Communicate With Patients, Customers, Other Departments, And Staff In An Articulate Manner.

Responsibilities
  1. Performs routine personal care and assists with activities of daily living for patients.
  2. Assists patients with body mechanics such as: ambulation, turning, positioning, transfer to wheelchairs/stretchers, and assists with range of motion.
  3. Assist patients with nutrition and elimination needs.
  4. Performs special procedures as assigned and notifies the nurse of any abnormal findings.
  5. According to scope and nursing policy and procedure, documents nursing assistant care provided to patients.
  6. Observes infection control measures.
  7. Age Specific Competency: Staff members will have knowledge of human growth and development through the life span of the patient and have the ability to meet the needs of and provide the care of these patients. The age categories to be included are: Neonatal/Infant 0 - 11 months; Pediatrics 1 - 12 yrs; Adolescence 13 - 17 yrs; Young Adult/Adult 18 - 64 yrs; Adult/Middle-Aged 65 - 79 yrs; Geriatric 80+ yrs.
  8. Responsible for self growth and education to maintain competence.
  9. Maintains a clean, neat, orderly working area.
  10. Performs other related duties as necessary or required.
  11. Follows patient safety guidelines (for example, patient identifiers, labeling specimens at the bedside, etc.).
  12. Performs duties as outlined in the scope of Nurse Aide II for Scotland Health ( per North Carolina Board of Nursing Nurse Aide II tasks list).
