Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a student in an undergraduate or graduate engineering program to join the Supplier Quality Engineering team as a hands-on contributor. The role focuses on technical qualification of new suppliers and parts, ensuring quality standards through APQP/PPAP frameworks, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities include supporting audits, PPAP coordination, APQP milestones, and review of drawings and quality plans.

Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, Industrial, or Systems Engineering).
  • Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing processes and technical drawing interpretation (GD&T).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) for documentation and data tracking.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interface with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Supplier Development team in executing technical qualification audits and assessments for new suppliers.
  • Facilitate the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) by coordinating with suppliers to ensure all documentation and technical requirements are met.
  • Assist in the execution of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) milestones for new product introductions.
  • Review technical drawings, specifications, and quality plans to ensure alignment with GE Vernova engineering standards.
  • Track and manage qualification project timelines to ensure components are ready for production on schedule.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve technical gaps identified during the qualification phase.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of technical qualification records and databases.
  • Participate in on-site supplier visits or virtual technical reviews to monitor process readiness.

As a student of the Supplier Quality Engineering team, you will be an active contributor to our Supplier Development process. Job Description

What you’ll do (Job Responsibilities)

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, Industrial, or Systems Engineering).

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be able to work on-site at the facility full-time to support shop floor operations; this role does not involve travel.
  • Must be willing and able to work in a manufacturing shop floor environment, including exposure to noise and industrial equipment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
