Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt) seeks a PCE Teaching Assistant for Fall 2026 at its Boston campus. The role supports faculty in Professional and Continuing Education and assists students with the processes taught in class.

Compensation is hourly: $18 for alumni teaching assistants and $15 for current students, with duties including classroom support, supply tracking, and ensuring shop safety and adherence to rules.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of the processes being taught and MassArt's shop tools and facilities.
• The assistant must be able to move around the studio and the ability to lift 50 pounds; and have a desire and to be helpful to students and faculty.

Responsibilities

• Assist the faculty of the Professional and Continuing Education as needed during class.
• Assist enrolled students as they work on the processes being taught.
• Assist faculty in ensuring that students adhere to shop rules.
• Help faculty keep track of supplies.
• Other duties as they arise, related to the success of the course.
