Description
The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for leading and supporting the day-to-day operations of the production floor with a specific focus on PCBA (Surface Mount Technology) manufacturing. This includes overseeing a team of production and warehouse staff, maintaining high safety and quality standards, and ensuring daily production goals are met. This role also holds full responsibility for shipping, receiving, and inventory operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead non-exempt team members across PCBA/SMT production, shipping, and warehouse function
- Oversee daily SMT line operations to ensure quality, throughput, and minimal downtime
- Maintain compliance with assembly procedures, time standards, and quality expectations
- Deliver hands-on training and coaching to drive a high-performance team culture
- Support 6S, Lean manufacturing, and Kaizen activities; drive continuous improvement efforts
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve production issues and implement process enhancements
- Monitor staffing levels and organize work to meet production and shipping schedules
- Enforce safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient production floor
- Assist with audits and documentation related to production processes and inventory control
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall operational goals
Requirements
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong leadership and team-building skills with a proactive, hands-on management style
- Solid understanding of SMT equipment, soldering processes, and quality standards for PCBA manufacturing
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot production issues quickly
- Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across departments
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP/inventory management systems
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in electronics manufacturing or PCBA/SMT assembly
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and ISO standards preferred
