Job summary

Johnson Service Group is seeking a Test Technician in San Jose to perform PCBA failure analysis, troubleshooting, and repair support for their client. You will work with schematics, bench test equipment, and standard analytics tools to ensure quality and accurate documentation.

The role emphasizes detailed component-level troubleshooting, real-time problem solving, and collaboration with Test Engineering to identify recurring defects and improve reliability in electronic assemblies.

Qualifications

• AA/Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on PCBA testing and debug experience.
• Strong component-level troubleshooting; this is not a board-swap position.
• Experience with analog and digital circuitry and highly integrated electronics.
• Proficient with bench test equipment and reading schematics; LabVIEW/Python/Linux a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform PCBA failure analysis and troubleshoot defective PCBs using schematics and bench test equipment.
• Identify failures to the component level and provide rework instructions.
• Document failures, repairs, and rework activity in the database.
• Perform post-rework inspections to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Identify and communicate recurring defect and failure trends to Test Engineering.
• Perform PCBA, subsystem, and system-level testing as needed.
