Job summary

Sanmina Corporation is seeking a Planning Engineer in San Jose, CA to support engineering activities and plan the manufacturing process for printed circuit boards. The first six months involve hands-on learning across departments, followed by training to develop tooling instructions for PCB production.

The role requires planning jobs with InPlan and Insolver, coordinating with CAM operators, performing DFM reviews, and communicating technical details with internal teams and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• Experience in planning, product engineering, and tooling in a PCB manufacturing environment; CAD/CAM experience helpful.
• Self-starter with initiative and strong verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to learn across departments in a manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

• Plan jobs using InPlan and Insolver to create production travelers for a PCB manufacturing plant.
• Instruct CAM operators on tooling requirements and answer technical questions from other departments and customers.
• Perform DFM (Design for Manufacturability) reviews on customer designs.
• Conduct spec-review and spec-summary on customer documents and industry standards.
