Job summary

West Coast Solutions is seeking a PCB Layout Design Engineer to join our aerospace-focused team in California. The role requires a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in electrical engineering or related field and 2–7 years of PCB layout experience.

You will work with Altium Designer or Cadence Allegro, develop component libraries, and create fabrication/assembly drawings while ensuring IPC compliance. The ideal candidate has familiarity with high-layer count boards (10+ layers), signal/power

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associates degree in electrical engineering or similar
• 2-7 years of professional experience in PCB layout design
• Understanding of PCB design/fabrication processes, limitations and design rules
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and apply best design practices and procedures for each PCB layout
• Proficiency with IPC standards for PCB design and manufacturing
• Experience using Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro or similar PCB layout design tools
• Experience with developing component libraries and library management
• Experience with a variety of board types, including high layer count (10+ layers), digital designs and power electronics
• Experience with creating PCB fabrication and assembly drawings
• Familiar with basic signal and power integrity rules and how those can affect PCB layout
• Ambitious spirit with a willingness to take on challenges, learn from mistakes and execute assignments
• Good written and oral communication skills and ability to work effectively with others

• Experience with high-speed digital interfaces and controlled impedance routing requirements
• Experience with flex circuits
• Experience with high-pin density packages and layout such as FPGAs

Salary Range:

$95,000- $156,000. Dependent on the candidate’s experience.
