Global Category Manager – Printed Circuit Boards

The Amazon Leo Electronic Supply Chain team seeks an experienced Global Category Manager for Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), Flexible Printed Circuit boards (FPCs), and Flexible Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (FPCAs). The role requires background in global supplier management, new supplier introduction, supplier development, negotiation, contract development, and sourcing decisions to support new product introduction and long‑term commodity strategy. The ideal candidate is a self‑managed sourcing strategist, maps and aligns design and technology roadmaps, creates sourcing strategies, and supports engineering teams to develop the latest technologies through a strong supplier base, achieving cost reduction goals while avoiding capacity constraints.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage overall supplier relationships including performance, capability, capacity planning, contracting, risk mitigation, and cost and quality improvements.
• Collaborate with technical operations, engineering, and program teams on new product introduction programs to define standard and custom product requirements, ensuring sourcing strategies meet technical capabilities, cost, and business objectives.
• Develop efficient mechanisms for communicating forecast and capacity requirements for sustaining and new products.
• Support purchasing and planning teams by monitoring supplier performance and addressing supply and/or quality issues.
• Align supplier strategies to Amazon Leo objectives for sustaining production and new product release.
• Develop a commodity and supplier technology roadmap, aligning business requirements with supplier capabilities.
• Maintain quarterly supplier scorecards and conduct quarterly executive business reviews.
• Travel periodically (approximately 15%) to supplier facilities domestically and internationally.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related technical field.
• Experience in global supply chain management, managing cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced consumer electronics product company.
• 3+ years of negotiations/cost savings, supplier excellence, and risk mitigation experience.
• 3+ years of direct experience in component lifecycle management, last‑to‑buy (LTB) execution, and alternate sourcing qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years experience in supplier evaluation/selection, should‑cost models, negotiation of MVA, NRE, and CAPEX/OPEX to ensure best‑in‑class cost.
• Experience managing large‑value, multi‑year contracts for complex engineered products.
• Experience in Manufacturing, Aerospace, Automotive, and/or Consumer Electronics industries.
• Experience working with a range of partners and component suppliers, including those engaged in technology development.
• Technical acumen in EE (Electrical Engineering), foundry and semiconductor components, design/development with ability to connect to related business matters such as cost, manufacturing cycle time, and yields.

Benefits and Compensation

The base salary for this position ranges from $82,700 to $139,100 annually, excluding sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and location.
