Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior PCB Design Layout Engineer to join the Hardware Layout team in Santa Clara. You will design high-speed, high-density PCBs, drive topology decisions, and ensure signal and power integrity from concept through artwork release.

Successful candidates will have a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (advanced degree preferred), 6+ years of relevant experience, and proven leadership. Strong communication and a detail-oriented approach are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • PCB layout of high-speed/high-density PCBs for NVIDIA business units.
  • Develop CAD layout from component placement to topology, ensuring signal and power integrity.
  • Release artwork files, test reports, and PCB documentation for production.
  • Ensure designs meet SI, EMI/RFI, FCC, UL, IPC requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Guide and collaborate with design teams to meet project milestones.

Job description

We are looking for a Senior PCB Design Layout Engineer to join the Hardware Layout team.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Working closely with product design engineers, you'll perform PCB layout of high speed/high-density value-conscious PCBs for all business units at NVIDIA (Data Center, GPU Desktop, Notebook, Automotive, Professional, Deep Learning, and AI).
  • Complete development of CAD layout from detailed component placement, constraints management, with a concept of topology and signal and power integrity.
  • Be responsible for the design releases required generation of artwork files, ODB++, test reports, and electronic PCB documentation.
  • Your designs will need to follow SI constraints, EMI/RFI control and FCC, UL and European regulations, IPC specification.
What we need to see:
  • B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience); advanced degree preferred.
  • 6+ years of overall relevant practical experience.
  • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of successfully managing teams and projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Detail‑oriented approach with a focus on quality and reliability in PCB layout design.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex design issues.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
  • Proficiency in PCB design tools such as Cadence Allegro, or Mentor Graphics.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to PCB layout and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong understanding of high-speed digital design principles and signal integrity considerations.

You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 168,000 USD – 258,750 USD for Level 4, and 200,000 USD – 322,000 USD for Level 5.
