Benchmark is seeking an entry- to mid-level PCB assembler in Huntsville, AL. You will read assembly prints, follow procedures, and assemble PCBs and components from process sheets. Candidates should have at least 1 year in hardware or optics assembly and be able to use hand tools.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of hardware and/or simple optics assembly experience.
  • Ability to read, write and perform basic math.
  • Ability to use hand tools to manufacture PCBs and assemblies.
  • Ability to learn and master PCB assembly tasks.
  • Ability to identify electronic components.
  • Ability to identify solder non-conformances and correct them.
  • Good verbal and written communication.
  • Responds to written and verbal instructions.
  • Willingness to work around chemicals and overtime.
  • Cross-train in other areas and participate in continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Reads and follows assembly prints and procedures for PCB manufacturing.
  • Identify defects and suggest improvements to work instructions.
  • Maintain clean, safe work environment with careful attention to detail.
  • Assemble PCBs, components, and modules from samples and process sheets.
  • Maintain material control and perform self-inspection.
  • Provide timely feedback to operations and engineering.
  • Document processes accurately and follow standard work.
  • Mentor lesser skilled employees as needed.

Summary:
Assembles and/or modifies electronic components, subassemblies and systems by following specific instructions. Assists in working with other less experienced assemblers.

Responsibilities:

  • Reads and follows assembly prints, work instructions, drawings, procedures and specifications used in the manufacturing of PCBs
  • Identifies by sight workmanship and material defects in touch-up and assembly areas and may be able to suggest basic changes to the work instructions to improve operations in these areas
  • Performs tasks with a high degree of care and attention to details while maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • Assembles electronic components, assemblies, and modules by working from samples, visual aids, wiring lists and process sheets
  • Maintains accurate material control within the work area
  • Performs inspection of own work in immediate working unit
  • Participates in providing timely feedback to other operations, management and support engineering, as appropriate
  • Follows and maintains accurate process documentation
  • Assemble PCBs of an intermediate complexity
  • May use a variety of tools to perform tasks
  • Serve as a mentor to lesser skilled employees

Other information:
