Dayton Children's Main Campus in the Specialty Pediatrics department is seeking a part-time Patient Care Assistant (PCA). The role supports nursing staff by performing patient care tasks, taking vital signs, and assisting with activities of daily living, while ensuring patient safety and privacy in a pediatric hospital setting.

The PCA participates in a team-based environment, cross-training to support both clinical and clerical duties.

Competenze

• Education: HSD/GED required.
• Experience: PCA training or PCA experience preferred, or enrollment in health care education.

Demonstrates strong communication skills, accepts delegated tasks and has the knowledge and understanding to ask questions and report patient information as indicated. Appropriately handles patient information understanding confidentiality and privacy. Complies with the safety management program designed to provide a physical environment free of hazards and to reduce the risk of injury. Is knowledgeable about and responsive to the mission of the hospital. The PCA promotes a patient and family experience oriented environment and acts as a change agent to meet the rapidly changing census and needs of all customers-both internal and external. The PCA measures and records vital signs, intake and output, assists patients with activities of daily living, and provides safe transportation and environment for patients.
