Trezevant Episcopal Home in Memphis, TN is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to provide direct resident care and assistance with activities of daily living. The role focuses on personal hygiene, grooming, feeding assistance, and supporting residents in daily activities within a healthcare facility.

The position requires 18+ years old and experience in caregiving, with opportunities for in-service training and routine rounds.

Responsabilidades

• Attend in-service hours annually to include Infection Control and Safety.
• Maintain CNA Certification status if applicable.
• Provide basic patient care including bathing, grooming, and hygiene assistance.
• Make beds and manage resident clothing and personal items.
• Record weights, vital signs, intake and outputs as assigned.
• Assist with feeding residents who cannot feed themselves.
• Support resident activities and respond to pendant calls promptly.
• Perform routine rounds and monitor residents’ condition and changes.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

PCA's provide direct care to residents in the facility, primarily for their activities of daily living, assistance with therapeutic activities programs, restorative programs, documentation as required by the facility.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Attend 12 in-service hours annually to include in-services on Infection Control, Universal Precautions, Fire and Safety; willingness to learn and be taught by others.


• Maintain CNA Certification status with Tennessee Nurse Aide Registry every two (2) years (if a CNA).


• Knowledgeable of Trezevant’s Mission, Vision and Values.


• Report to assigned unit at scheduled time to get report from unit nurse.


• Give basic patient care: bathing, mouth care, shampooing and grooming of hair, clean and file nails requested and assist as needed with personal hygiene.


• Maintain care and neatness of resident units: bed making, personal clothing, and bedside table.


• Responsible for weights, vital signs, Intake and Outputs, as assigned.


• Pass and set up food trays; feed/assist residents who cannot feed themselves.


• Assist residents to activities to the extent time and conditions warrant.


• Answer pendant calls promptly and courteously - check that pendant is on the resident.


• Shave male residents as needed.


• Routine rounds.


• Be observant - inform the Charge Nurse of any significant changes in the resident's condition.

Qualifications:

• Experience in care giving needed.


• Must be at least 18 years old.
