Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is hiring a Personal Care Assistant in California to provide support for clients with personal, mobility, and therapeutic care needs. The role offers hourly pay from $20 to $23 and a chance to help clients maintain independence in daily activities.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily tasks, health care tasks, hygiene, transfers, and companionship. State licensure or certification as required, plus BLS, PPD or Chest X-ray per policy, and strong communication with care

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills with clients and supervisors.
• English proficiency may be required for effective care.
• Basic computer proficiency for documentation and scheduling.
• BLS certification is required at some sites.
• Knowledge of child growth and development is preferred.
• Ability to coordinate services between home, school, and health resources.

Responsibilities

• Provides services to persons needing help with day-to-day activities.
• Performs health care tasks, personal hygiene and related support.
• Assists with transfers and ambulation.
• Completes incidental household tasks integral to the care plan.
• Provides companionship and engages in activities with clients.
• Fosters independence in self-care activities.
• Reports changes in client status as directed by the care plan.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provides services to persons who need help with day-to-day activities
• Provides health care tasks, personal hygiene services, and other related support services essential to the client’s health
• Assists with transfers and ambulation
• Performs incidental household services that are an integral part of a personal care plan
• Provides companionship by reading, listening and talking with client
• Assists client in the development of independent skills through self-care activities such as toileting, clothing routines and personal hygiene
• Appropriately reports changes in client status or as directed by care plan
• Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

Requirements

• State licensure or certification as required by state and/or program
• One (1) year relevant experience preferred
• Current BLS Card
• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray
• Knowledge of child growth and development
• Ability to coordinate and facilitate services between the home, school, local health agency, and other community resources
• Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language may be required
• Computer proficiency required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
