Job summary

Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading, PA is seeking a Patient Care Associate to support basic patient care under the direction of a registered nurse.

The 0.90 FTE, day shift position runs 7:00am–7:30pm, with every third weekend and 7:00a - 7:30p hours in a general Medicine/Surgery unit. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and BLS certification within 3 months of starting.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Under direction of a Registered Nurse, the Patient Care Associate contributes to the basic patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of the patient. Actual job tasks may vary depending on the unit or department assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within three (3) months of start date
