Job summary

Job description

Position Title: PC Technician

Department: Technology Support Services

Term of Assignment: Continuing

Term End Date, If Applicable:

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt = overtime eligible

Work Schedule: Traditionally Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00pm, with occasional evening and weekend work required.

Salary: Targeted Salary Range: $52,275-$55,350

Travel: Less than 10%

Brief Statement of Duties

Provide basic and advanced (Tier2) technical assistance to computer and network system users byanswering questions, troubleshooting and resolving network access,network service, software, and hardware problems, including but notlimited to printing, software installation, word processing,electronic mail, and operating systems for clients in person, viatelephone or from a remote location. Provide supervision, technicalassistance, and support to student staff.

Minimum Qualifications

• Required Education: Course work leading to a degreeCertificate
• Discipline/Degree Area: CS, CIS, or equivalent
• Required Specialized Training/Certifications: Bachelor'sDegree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Another discipline/degree area may be considered.
• Thinkpad and Apple hardware certifications required within 12months of the date of hire.
• Required Minimum Work Experience: Eighteen months hands-on computer repair work experience.
• Eighteen months' work experience in software installation,maintenance and trouble shooting, and reading and interpretingtechnical manuals.
• Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties: Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronicequipment, and computer hardware and software, includingapplications.
• Possess minimal programming skills.
• Possess active listening, critical thinking, complex problemsolving, and time management skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication and comprehensionskills.
• Ability to perform quality control analysis with strong attentionto detail.
• Good customer service skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.

Additional Desirable Qualifications

• Supervisory experience.
• Possess A+, IBM, Apple, Lenovo, CompTIA Network+ and othercertifications.
