Job summary

Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Day Shift IT Support Specialist to provide day-to-day micro-computer support across the hospital and affiliates. You will install, configure and troubleshoot computer hardware and software for end users.

The role requires an Associate’s degree (or technical degree) in CS or related field, plus 5+ years of experience and CompTIA A+ certification. Work in a hospital environment with a focus on timely issue resolution and user support.

Qualifications

• 4 years additional relevant experience is acceptable.
• Required work experience 5 or more years experience in Computer Science or related field.

Responsibilities

• Provides frontline Tier 1 support to end users to resolve a variety of issues, including hospital-based applications and Information Systems policies and practices.
• Identifies and resolves hardware and software problems to the network level; escalates complex issues as needed.
• Installs and configures new micro-computer hardware and software with users, vendors and IS staff.
• Documents actions taken to resolve Trouble Tickets and Work Orders in the Magic Service Desk software.
• Communicates with customers according to established priority schemes and schedules Work Orders within two days of receipt.

Essential Functions

• Provides frontline Tier 1 Support to end users to provide expert and creative solutions on a variety of issues including hospital based applications and Information Systems policies and practices.
• Identifies and resolves hardware and software problems to the network level, passing those more complex to the next support level.
• Installs and configures new micro-computer hardware and software in conjunction with users, vendors and other Information Systems personnel.
• Documents actions taken to resolve both Trouble Tickets and Work Orders in the Magic Service Desk software.
• Communicates with customer according to established priority scheme including, but not limited to, scheduling Work Orders within two days of receipt.
• Uses security, anti-virus and diagnostic tools in course of job performance.
• Imparts knowledge to others and promote an attitude of teamwork.
• Provides technical support, equipment orientation, limited training, and assistance to end users.
• Determines user's requirements for hardware and software and provides configuration, pricing and sourcing information to users.
• Promotes and demonstrates attitude of teamwork, caring and effective communication and rapport with coworkers, and user oriented focus.
• Demonstrates technical skill in using equipment appropriate for role.
• Understands equipment operation.
• Maintains equipment in working order.
• Troubleshoots equipment problems.
