Job summary

Pinnacle Specialty Group, Inc. in Oak Ridge, Tennessee seeks a Senior Estimator Subject Matter Expert to lead cost estimating and project controls for a major nuclear weapons construction program. You will provide expert guidance on DOE/NNSA requirements, schedules, and risk-informed estimates.

Requirements include U.S. citizenship, 20+ years in cost estimating for large industrial projects, a relevant bachelor's degree, and advanced skills in estimating software, scheduling tools, and Excel.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must have a working knowledge of Federal (including Department of Energy Orders), State, and Local codes and standards applicable to project controls
• A minimum of 20 years+ of progressively responsible experience in cost estimating and/or project controls for large, complex industrial or heavy construction projects, with significant experience in the nuclear or defense sector
• A Bachelor's Degree: IN Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant and extensive experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Expert-level knowledge of nuclear construction regulations, safety standards, and project controls practices as they apply to NNSA/DOE projects.
• Advanced proficiency with estimating software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Excel.

• Review and provide input to specifications for engineered equipment and/or subcontracts
• Review and provide input to estimators on resources (labor and other-than-labor) needed to perform the scope of work
• Provide input to schedulers on sequence, durations, and logic of activities
• Provide input to management regarding risk-informed schedules to serve as the basis for establishing milestones and PBIs
• Provide input to engineers, estimators, and schedulers on constructability, maintain-ability, operability, and commissioning
• Provide input to technical writers for BOEs, BOS, and WBS data dictionary
• The Estimator Subject Matter Expert (SME) provides expert-level cost estimating and analysis for a major nuclear weapons construction project within the NNSAcomplex.

This role requires an in-depth understanding of complex, construction, Department of Energy (DOE) regulations, and the unique estimating challenges of the nuclear security enterprise
