Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a PC Network Support Technician to support information system lifecycle activities at our Redondo Beach, CA location. The role requires on-site work with a Secret clearance and offers responsibilities including workstation relocation, diagnostics, and customer support.

Candidates should have a Security+ or higher and the ability to obtain TS clearance. Knowledge of Windows and Office, plus ticketing tools like ServiceNow or JIRA, is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibits good communication skills, an energetic approach, and patience with customers.
  • Maintains high levels of customer satisfaction according to defined objectives and policies.
  • Under supervision, performs assigned tasks.
  • Relocates workstations and equipment between campus buildings to resume operations with minimal disruption.
  • Provides basic diagnostics and analyzes problems using historical records.
  • Resolves technical problems via telephone, supporting internal and external customers.
  • Uses Active Directory or similar tools to create/unlock user accounts and perform password resets
  • Maintains accurate hardware asset inventory in the tracking system
  • Supports IT Operations fundamentals and service desk activities
  • Participates in new installations, testing and special projects as needed
  • Spends significant time away from the desk supporting users and moving equipment
  • Raises issues that require senior level attention
  • Supports environments via ticketing systems (ServiceNow, JIRA)
  • Lifts and moves equipment up to 50 pounds

The Northrop Grumman CIDO Classified Solutions team is seeking a PC Network Support Technician to support information system lifecycle activities. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site, full-time at our Redondo Beach, CA location.

Note:

Due to the classified nature of the work being performed, this position does not offer any virtual or telecommute working options.

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Exhibits good communication skills, an energetic approach, and patience with customers.

  • Establishes and maintains high levels of customer satisfaction according to defined objectives while adhering to established policies.

  • Under supervision, performs the following tasks as assigned.

  • Performs relocation of workstations and associated equipment for individual users or teams between campus buildings, installing and configuring equipment so operations resume with minimal disruption.

  • Provide basic diagnostics, identified, isolates and analyzes problems utilizing historical records.

  • Resolves technical problems and answers queries by telephone, in support of internal and/or outside customer computer hardware, software, network, and telecommunications systems.

  • Uses Active Directory or similar tools to create and unlock user/computer account, perform password resets, following all security policies and procedures

  • Maintains accurate inventory records in the asset tracking system for all hardware assets (PCs, monitors, phones, peripherals, etc.) and updates status whenever equipment is deployed, moved, repaired, or retired.

  • Possess a technical understanding of service desk and IT Operations fundamentals

  • Participates in new installations, testing and special projects as needed.

  • Spend significant portions of the day away from the desk supporting users and moving equipment.

  • Raises issues that require senior level attention or involvement.

  • Support environments by means of ticketing requirements systems (ServiceNow, JIRA)

  • Lifts and moves equipment up to 50 pounds.

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School diploma (or equivalent) and 0 years of experience

  • Must have a Security+ certification (or greater) in order to be considered

  • Candidates must have a current US Government Secret level security clearance (at a minimum) in order to be considered and have the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Top Secret clearance as a condition of continued employment

  • Candidates must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, access to Special Programs as a condition of employment

  • General experience and knowledge of Microsoft Windows Desktop Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Product Suites

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree

  • Active Top Secret, SCI, SAP/SAR access, or Polygraph

  • 1 years of experience with IT related hardware in a classified environment

  • Knowledge of remote administration and troubleshooting of desktop PCs

  • Familiarity with Active Directory, creating user and computer accounts

  • Operating System Cross-platform awareness (i.e. two or more: Windows, Linux, Solaris, OSX, UNIX, etc.)

  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, JIRA)

Primary Level Salary Range: $43,400.00 - $72,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
