Job summary

L&T Technology Services LTD is seeking an Instrumentation & Control Design Engineer to deliver comprehensive engineering packages for power and instrumentation in industrial plants. You will define scope with customers, coordinate with offshore teams, and ensure timely delivery of engineering deliverables across projects.

The role covers instrument datasheets, IO lists, wiring diagrams, PLC/SCADA knowledge, and NEC-compliant LV distribution design.

Qualifications

• Engineering design packages for power and instrumentation in industrial plants.
• Prepare Instrument Datasheets, IO Lists, Wiring Diagrams and Engineering Information.
• Knowledge of PLC and SCADA in industrial networks.
• LV Electrical Distribution Design for power distribution panels per NEC.
• Panel design per UL508A; NFPA70E familiarity.
• Experience in commissioning and validation is a plus.
• Strong communication, project and vendor management skills.

• Define the scope of work discussing with customer, coordinate with the offshore team and deliver the Engineering Deliverables.
• Coordinate with Customer to collect all the required inputs to complete the Engineering Design.
• Coordinate with vendors and construction team to get the required information for completing the design.
• Attend design reviews along with customer and the construction team and get the necessary approvals.
• Support in construction and start up activities.
• Lead electrical startup of all process and packing equipment.

Skills

• Should have worked as an Instrumentation and Control Design Engineer developing engineering design packages for industrial plants.
• Selection and design of controls and hardware for control and monitoring process plant instrumentation.
• Prepare Instrument Datasheets, IO Lists, Instrument List, Wiring Diagrams and Engineering Information.
• Knowledge in PLC and SCADA systems for industrial networks.
• Experienced in LV Electrical Distribution Design Power Distribution Panels, Motor Control Centers for process plants in compliance with NEC.
• Knowledge on control panel design as per UL508A.
• Previous work experience in system commissioning and validation would be a plus.
• Trained and qualified in NFPA70E requirements.
• Good Communication Skills, Project Management Skills, Vendor Management,
• Should have experience on Panel Engineering and Instrumentation & control: Instrument Datasheets, I/O List, Loop Drawings, Hook Up Drawings Location plans, Control System Architecture Drawing Preparation, Instrument and JB Plot Plan, 3D Model understanding & Preparation of Cables Trays, Panel, Installation of field instruments, etc.
• Ability to effectively represent information and respond to questions in a meeting environment.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards applicable to FMCG Plants and NEC standards.
