AdventHealth in Florida is seeking a Per Diem Switchboard Operator to support weekend pickups and day-shift coverage as needed. The role requires strong communication, customer service, and computer skills to manage calls across departments.

You will maintain call logs, forward calls to the proper units, and assist with codes and alarms while providing courteous service to patients, visitors, and staff. A high school diploma and 1+ year switchboard experience are expected.

Qualifications

• High School graduation or equivalent required.
• 1+ year experience in switchboard operations required.
• Proficient in English; excellent communication skills.
• Ability to use multiple computer systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Handle calls and route to proper departments.
• Maintain an operational call log and respond to needs and issues.

Job Description:

Per Diem (As Needed) Most shifts will be Weekend Pick ups, with some Weekdays depending on needs. Training will be mostly during the Day Shift. Contacts key personnel after hours as needed. Maintains an operational call log of all activities, requests, and issues. Cultivates accurate knowledge of hospital disaster codes and announces them efficiently according to procedure. Projects a positive and helpful demeanor while working with patients, visitors, physicians, and staff. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Other duties as assigned. Maintains a courteous and professional manner when answering calls. Demonstrates skill and proficiency when executing overhead announcements. Forwards calls promptly to proper departments, patient rooms, or staff as necessary. Understands and responds to all codes and alarm systems. Updates and maintains all on call lists for staff when notified of changes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Pay Range:

$15.30 - $22.95
