Overview
We are seeking a PBM Strategy and Implementation Consultant to lead a pharmacy supply chain transition and manage the execution of a new PBM vendor relationship. This role demands strong leadership, execution accountability, PBM expertise, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless delivery and business readiness.
Position: Contract
Responsibilities
- Lead execution of PBM transition including financial model implementation
- Act as the Business Lead for all related workstreams and milestones
- Manage contract negotiations and vendor performance
- Define and communicate the value story to stakeholders
- Oversee business readiness including training, communication, and role alignment
- Collaborate with PMO, IT, Ops, and external vendors for seamless execution
- Identify and mitigate risks, ensure compliance and performance optimization
- Translate business requirements into actionable plans with cross-functional teams
Requirement Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in pharmacy supply chain, PBM operations, or pharmacy services
- Proven experience in PBM transition or implementation at a health plan, PBM, or consulting firm
- Expertise in PBM contracting, claims adjudication, financial modeling, and rebate management
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial pharmacy operations
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Supply Chain (or equivalent experience)
- Strong decision-making, leadership, and vendor management capabilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or equivalent graduate degree
- Experience in projects involving CVS Caremark or similar PBM platforms
- Familiarity with regulated environments and large-scale healthcare transitions
Candidate Details
- Must have prior experience leading PBM transitions
- Should possess strong PBM financial and operational domain knowledge
- Must demonstrate leadership, communication, and execution capability
- Ready for contract-to-hire and occasional travel to client site
