Job summary

Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) seeks a faculty member to facilitate Problem-Based Learning sessions and manage related documentation under the PBL Director. Additional duties may be assigned by the Associate Dean of Preclinical Education.

The role involves attending meetings, preparing for sessions, supervising quizzes, evaluating student progress, and contributing to scholarly activity. Faculty are expected to assist with institutional fundraising and community outreach while

Qualifications

• Must possess MD or DO degree with clinical experience.
• Experience teaching 3rd or 4th year medical students or residents preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend meetings of key personnel involved in PBL implementation.
• Take direction and receive assignments from the Associate Dean of Preclinical Education and the PBL Pathway Director.
• Prepare for PBL student case sessions by assimilating all relevant case information.
• Perform the role of facilitator of PBL student case sessions, implementing these in a timely manner as directed by the PBL Director.
• Supervise student case-based quizzes.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress, reporting to PBL Director as required.
• Submit required student evaluations to the PBL office in a timely and efficient manner.
• Submit required case reports to PBL office as assigned.
• Be available for work during the hours assigned.
• Faculty member will contribute and be responsible for overall student success, including, but not limited to, advising and student outcomes.
• Faculty member will contribute directly to the Mission of LECOM embodying the essence of Osteopathic Principles and Practices by assisting with Institutional fundraising and participating in the LECOM Scholarship Auction.
• Faculty member will participate in scholarly activity so to enrich and broaden the student learning experience.
• Faculty member will commit to being a representative of LECOM by being actively involved in the community, including, but not limited to, serving on Boards, participating in community fundraisers and overall outreach.
• Accept other related duties that may be assigned to meet the Institution\'s needs.
