Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in subject area preferred.
• Possession of a valid internship, preliminary, or clear California Multiple Subject teaching credential.
• Demonstrated success working with students from educationally underserved areas.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional relationship-building skills with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong classroom management abilities.
• Willingness to work occasional weekends or evenings.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.
• Commitment to LA Promise Fund mission and core values.
• Must clear LiveScan background check and TB risk assessment.
• Mandated Reporter training; COVID-19 vaccination recommended.

Responsibilities

• Engage scholars through an interdisciplinary Project-Based Learning framework aligned with Common Core concepts.
• Drive student outcomes by aligning planning to the Common Core Standards and assessment data.
• Use data-driven techniques to set ambitious goals for scholars.
• Maintain communication with families regarding student progress.
• Attend professional meetings and trainings to maintain competence.
• Plan rigorous curriculum and deliver strong instruction with solid content knowledge.
• Take on advisory roles and after-school duties as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers and administrators to address student issues.
