Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach, CA, is seeking an Additive Manufacturing Engineer II, PBF to lead the development of powder bed fusion processes for Terran R hardware from concept to production. You’ll work across design, manufacturing, and quality teams to deliver robust print parameters and scalable processes.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in metal additive manufacturing or related field.
• Experience with LPBF process variables and build preparation.
• Proficiency with LPBF materials and DfAM fundamentals.
• Hands-on with work orders, instructions, and non-conformances.
• Experience using AM tools and CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Own build preparation, print programming strategy, manufacturing planning, and technical execution.
• Provide feedback on printability, DfAM improvements, and manufacturability trade-offs.
• Develop and maintain PBF process documentation, build standards, and verification plans.
• Partner with materials engineering on qualification requirements and process changes.
• Lead nonconformance investigations and implement preventive actions.
• Coordinate with multiple teams to remove blockers and protect hardware delivery.
• Create dashboards, checklists, and standard work to improve throughput and quality.
• Mentor interns and newer engineers in PBF fundamentals and cross-functional communication.
• Represent PBF Development Engineering in reviews and partner meetings.
