Job summary

Pursuit-Boats is seeking a production-friendly candidate to prepare molds and master patterns for lamination teams. You will sand, buff, and prep surfaces, ensure molds are clean, and maintain schedules. You will also wax tools and participate in special projects while following safety rules and ISPC processes.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and can read technical documents. The role requires standing, bending, and working with fiberglass materials in a dusty environment.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic math and measurements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare molds and master patterns for spraying and production.
  • Conduct sanding, buffing, and surface prep of master/mold surfaces.
  • Maintain department schedule and housekeeping; ensure cleanliness and organization.
  • Follow ISPC/approved processes and safety guidelines.
  • Wax finished tools in preparation for production parts or mold builds.

Key Objective:Successfully prepare Molds and Master patterns for production and mold lamination teamsMaintain schedule and qualityJob Specific Duties and Responsibilities:Wet/Dry sand master/mold surfaces and buff to a polished surfaceIdentify surface defectsSand prep surfaces for spray repairsWilling to work all shiftsWork on any special projects as neededDo housekeeping and other job-related duties assigned by supervisorMaintain department schedule to meet key milestonesOther duties may be assignedTape and prepare molds and master patterns for sprayingMake sure that molds and masters are clean with no contaminates before sprayingWax finished tools in preparation for production part or mold buildsEnsure all operations are performed safelyMaintain all areas and keep equipment clean, neat, and organized at all timesConduct daily routine maintenance of equipmentStore all materials safely at the end of the dayTrain Sander level employees.Conduct operations using TDC fabrication approved processes (ISPC)Proficiencies:Use of quality assurance equipment, radius gauge, etc.Surface inspection techniquesComposite fabricationSanding and buffing techniquesEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Safety: provides for continuous improvement and zero recordable safety environment.Quality: responsible for Adherence of procedures and processes.Delivery: responsible for maintaining schedule to meet key milestones.Other similar duties may be assigned:Understands environmental compliance as it relates to material used in their area: chemical handling, usage, labeling, storage, and disposal.Supports continuous improvement utilizing Safety system, Kaizen, CAR system, and other problem-solving techniques.Responsible for the proper maintenance of all equipment used in their area and workplace organization using the 5S methodology.Identifies problems (i.e. material shortages, employee relations issues, etc.) within their scope and communicates to the group leader when additional assistance is needed.Housekeeping:Performs housekeeping and other job-related duties assigned by supervisor/lead.Frequently handles and ensures that cleanliness and orderliness standards are met throughout the plant. This means doing the work him/herself whenever necessary.Keep all shop areas clean, parts put away in an orderly fashionMaintain tool and workstation organizationQualificationsGeneral knowledge and understanding of required power toolsMust be able to understand and execute top qualityMust be able to pass the strength/stress test and drug/alcohol screening contingent to the hiring processJob requires standing and working in and around boats/molds throughout the entire dayMust work efficiently and in the safest manner possible, following all safety regulations at all timeEducation and/or Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Language Skills:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Mathematical Skills:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
