Job summary

Malibu Boats, Inc. is seeking a Mold Tooling Engineer to design, document, test and oversee the fabrication of mold reinforcement, jigs and fixtures that support production of our vessels.

You will develop construction tolerances, create process instructions, audit tooling, and coordinate with project teams to align procedures with design. The role includes mentoring the Product Launch Team and managing BOMs and cost estimates to keep milestones on track.

Qualifications

  • Must be proficient in 2D and 3D CAD software.
  • Experience guiding shop personnel to troubleshoot manufacturing issues in production area.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Compliance with AWS welding standards.
  • Arc/Mig/Tig welding experience.
  • Adherence to Pursuit’s safety policies, practices, regulations and hazardous material handling and storage procedures.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop bill of materials and associated cost estimates for jigs, fixtures and mold bracing.
  • Engage with project teams to ensure construction procedures are in alignment with jig and fixture design.
  • Provide direction and training to the Product Launch Team, or other necessary personnel, and implement jigs and fixtures in accordance with department schedule and milestones.
  • Participate in resolution of ECN and CAR issues for production.
  • Maintain department schedule to meet key milestones.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Summary

Responsibilities

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
