ABM is hiring a Payroll Tax Analyst responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws, maintaining accuracy in employee payroll tax setups, assisting with audits, and analyzing payroll tax data.
This is a Hybrid work arrangement based in our Sugar Land, TX office.
Essential Functions
- Manage the end-to-end process of employee payroll tax setups.
- Stay updated on payroll tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and minimize risks.
- Investigate and resolve payroll tax discrepancies promptly.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on payroll tax issues.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to payroll staff regarding payroll tax policies and procedures.
- Assist in payroll tax audits by providing documentation and analysis.
- Manage the payroll tax email inbox and maintain the issues log.
- Assist with year-end balancing of W-2s and W-3s.
- Support User Acceptance Testing for ADP Vantage tax updates.
- Assist with system implementations and integrations.
- Deliver outstanding customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications – Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Accounting or Finance.
- Proficiency in ADP payroll systems, ADP SmartCompliance, Excel, and other relevant software.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Payroll Analyst, with at least 2 years in payroll tax administration.
- Strong knowledge of state and local payroll tax laws and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
