Payroll Manager

Los Angeles, CA Contract Accounting $40/HR to $60/HR 09/01/2026

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Payroll Manager to assist their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting pay rate of $40.00 to $.00 per hour.

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee end to end payroll processing to ensure employees are paid accurately, timely, and in compliance with applicable regulations.
• Manage payroll audits, reconciliations, tax reporting activities, and year end payroll processes.
• Maintain payroll records, review payroll transactions, and resolve payroll related discrepancies and inquiries.
• Partner with human resources, finance, and management teams to support payroll operations and process improvements.
• Lead payroll system administration, reporting initiatives, and ongoing enhancements within Workday.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including payroll management responsibilities.
• Hands on experience processing multi state payroll in a high volume environment.
• Strong proficiency with Workday payroll and related workforce management systems.
• Thorough knowledge of payroll regulations, payroll taxes, wage and hour requirements, and compliance standards.

Qualifications:

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) credential.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to support employees and collaborate across departments.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting strict deadlines in a fast paced environment.
• Previous experience leading payroll process improvements, system implementations, and payroll related projects.
